"It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh has nothing to offer. The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and they are life."
Scripture is not any old word. The Bible is not any old book. We need to read God’s word as an important word from a book that looks important.
St. Paul certainly was concerned about the ongoing renewal and growth processes of the churches. He warned Timothy about the dangers of becoming involved in "foolish and ignorant" arguments that do no good but only ruin people who listen to them. We heed Paul’s advice "All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the faith and correcting error, for resetting the direction of a man’s life and training him for good living. The scriptures are the comprehensive equipment of the man of God and fit him fully for all branches of his work.
We will hear a powerful witness of the Good news proclaimed by Jesus, discuss the impact of scripture in our lives in small groups with group activities to show how we view scripture.
